San Engineering performed anchorage design for pump equipment for Bechtel. Bechtel’s “Engineering Specification for Seismic Protection of Equipment” requires the suppliers of equipment to provide the structural design of the equipment’s anchorage and the associated report in accordance with this specification. San Engineering also conducted seismic analysis and structural qualification of Seismic Category I equipment.
This specification requires the equipment suppliers to perform a detailed stress analysis of their equipment if it is listed as Seismic Category I. As a result, San Engineering has developed a comfortable rapport with the Bechtel PCAPP engineering staff, and consistently navigated the processes and intricacies common to equipment with Seismic Category I classification. Our submittals are typically granted a “Code I” status upon their first review.
